Charli is a passionate, creative and caring Art tutor with 23 years of experience teaching students from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5. She supports learners across Art and Design, Graphics, Textiles and Photography, helping each student develop confidence, technical skill and their own creative voice.

Before moving into education, Charli began her career in graphic design after graduating from university. Her love of hands-on, tactile and varied creative work led her into teaching, where she has been able to share her enthusiasm for the full spectrum of art, craft and design.

Charli is also an accomplished artist, specialising in sculpture and card creation. Outside teaching, she balances a busy family life with her own creative practice, running, reading and spending time with her two sons.

Professional background

Charli has 23 years of experience teaching students from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5. Her teaching experience spans Art and Design, Graphics, Textiles and Photography, giving her a broad understanding of creative education across different ages, stages and pathways.

After graduating from university, Charli began her career in graphic design. Although she enjoyed the industry, she missed the hands-on variety of traditional art and design, which led her into education. This background allows her to bring both creative industry insight and classroom experience into her tutoring.

Charli is also an artist in her own right, with a particular interest in sculpture and card creation. Her own creative practice helps inform her teaching, especially her understanding of experimentation, process, patience and personal expression.
